The exhibition presents a selection of sculptures by Livia Bertacca (b. 1999, San Miniato, IT), Jake Kent (b. 1990, Staffordshire, UK) and Rebecca Picci (b. 1999, Cagliari, IT). The exhibited works develop a narrative environment around the social, economic and value crisis of the contemporary world. In this period, while trying to figure out what strategies to adopt in view of the future, movements aimed at interpreting the origin of the side effects of the development of our civilization are emerging. The hyper-rationalization and capitalization of reality produces social claims and conflicts on the one hand, and alternative theories on the other. At a time of disorientation, the rejection of the tools necessary for understanding the current situation generates a rapprochement with magical practices and beliefs, giving the possibility of imagining a fantastic future free from the world’s inherent conflictuality. Facts collide with fictional realities, creating ideological divisions and segregations. The exhibition presents the work of three female artists who explore these themes in their sculptural research, unfolding an environment that reflects the psychological dimension of our time.
