Alessandro Rauschmann

*1985 Hannover

The work of Alessandro Rauschmann is a compelling journey through the inherent questions of the humankind relating to life/death, transcendence, decay and beauty. From his beginnings, he has been working on various different yet compatible levels spanning between performance, sculpture, film, photography, collage and painting. His so called artefacts speak of a dramatic tension between what they might represent and what they actually are – objects and materials drawn from our everyday life such as gloves, cables, t-shirts, subway tickets, bread and so forth. By combining these objects their former function dissolves and a further meaning is being suggested - The readymade method and the idea of the artist with divine hands creating from nothing merge into one another.

Alessandro Rauschmann studied fine art at the Universität der Künste Berlin in the class of Prof. Gregor Schneider (2010-2012) and in the class of Prof. Rebecca Horn (2007-2010) The artist owns a "Meisterschüler" degree.

The artist exhibited and performed among the following venues: MOLT (Berlin 2023), Villa Romana (Florence 2022), Lusvardi Art (Milan 2021), Kunstverein B05 (Montabaur 2020), HEW/ Kwadrat Gallery (Berlin 2020), Exgirlfriend Gallery (Berlin 2019), FFTN (Saint Petersburg 2019), Eigen Art Lab (Berlin 2019), Kindl Kunstzentrum (Berlin 2019), +DEDE (Berlin 2018),  Bereznitsky Gallery (Kiev 2014), Bundeskunsthalle (Bonn 2013), Al Riwaq Artspace (Bahrein 2011), Kunsthalle Bremerhaven 2010, Haus am Lützowplatz (Berlin 2009) Rauschmann is living and working in Berlin and Milan
